There are now more registered voters in California than the population of 46 states
I agree. that’s why I threw in the “weirdly carved” and “kinda sorta”. And adding in the federal lands as mentioned in a comment upthread would spice things up further.
The resultant boundary (if it ever happens) will probably resemble some of those crazy gerrymandered districts we’ve all scoffed at in the past.
Perhaps instead of seceding they could just immigrate to Russia.
.
Succession has worked so well for Quebec, hasn’t it?
A good song. Holiday in Cambodia is fun, too. Too bad Jello Biafra is such a leftist.
Before they go, they should each pay their projected portion of the Federal Debt. And the US should retain all federal property. If they want to buy back the water retention structures constructed by the Federal Govt, I would be in favor of selling those structures at today’s value, not the cost of construction.
It’s a game of brinksmanship. I suspect the rest of the states would let them go, but on a county by county basis.
1. Apologize to the Confederacy;
2. Repay all the damages done ($1 Trillion will do);
3. Go ahead.
Tomorrow the wrath of God will be unleashed on you. When we’re through, California will look like 1864 Atlanta.
Not a bad idea and they might jump at it. Territories don’t pay Federal income tax: they pay taxes to the territory. So Cuckifornia can run its own affairs and we don’t have to worry about their electoral votes or looney tunes in Congress.
It’s just a publicity stunt. Their strategy is doomed to fail and they know it. If they reallly wanted to leave then they would go the constitutional amendment route. But they don’t so they selected a route that can’t get them from a to b even if it succeeds.

The new administration needs to perform a study first thing on how much water will cost the country of Califonia
I live in CA and the only reason I have a problem with it is the 49 Star American Flag looks a little “off” to me.
That being said, I could get used to it. LOL
The caveat is that the new Country of CA had better buy my House using Gold Bullion before I relocate to a sane Country.
Certainly, each county should vote on whether they want to leave the union - much as you mentioned, West Virginia. The resulting secession would probably only involve a narrow coastal strip from San Diego to SF. The rest of the state would form Jefferson and would inherit the two Senators and as many Representatives as their population would warrant.
What the Calexitors forget is that the Silicon Valley mega-taxpaying corporations are publicly-owned and their boards would move them to Texas or Florida to escape Cali’s high taxes, What is left of Cali would be a wildly overpopulated coastal strip that would be poor, hungry and out of water and power.
Yes, we would want them stripped of their citizenship so that they could not migrate back into the US and contaminate our political process with their Marxist views. We could thrive without Cali.
I’m for it. Give those who still want to be part of the USA 1 year to manage their property/career plans and get across the border and then build a wall to keep the rest out.....
You’ll be an immigrant from California.
That’s an excellent question. 30% of all Federal welfare recipients live in California.
"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America
Has he violated his oath? The Constitution does not permit secession, we fought the most violent war in our history to ensure the States remained United.
So it has come down to this has it? The only thing keeping the US together is threats of invasion. The country is lost then. Go CA, Via con Dios.
Secession and threats of secession are actually a healthy thing for a republic.
