Kirk Douglas turns 100 on Friday, and he has found the perfect gift to celebrate. Running Press later today officially will announcing the May 2 publication of a new book, Douglas 12th, written with his wife of 62 years, Anne Buydens Douglas, called Kirk and Anne: Letters of Love, Laughter, and a Lifetime in Hollywood.

Read his “The Ragman’s Son”, it was quite good.
Kirk is Jewish.
Don’t watch him. Allegations of non-consensual intimate contact with Natalie Wood when she was a virgin — “I’ve never had a ___”.
Just once, I would love to see an episode of Sea Hunt again. It was one of the first TV shows I remember.
Wow.
Had no idea he was this old.
Ironically, I watch Seven Days in May last nigh.
Whoops, it was LLyod Bridges. Sorry.
Real name - Issur Danielovitch Demsky
When he was younger and much randier than he is now, Kirk Douglas was a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE womanizer, truly sickening stuff. The Douglas marriage is/was not a truly beautiful love story the way Chuck and Lydia Heston’s was. But I suppose if they were able to work things out, that’s not a bad thing. Once the hormones stopped raging, perhaps Kirk was finally able to be a good husband.
good grief !
why can’t old people just leave their freaking faces ALONE!
WOW!!!
can’t they SEE how BAD that looks!?!?!
Love both movies!
Yuck, Anne looks like the Joker.
An amazing movie, and based on historical fact.
He was born Jewish, of Russian Ashkenazi immigrant parents. Birth name was Issue Danielovitch, dirt poor son of a ragman. I read his autobiography years ago and he returned late in life to his roots in Conservative Judaism. But politically he was always a New Deal Liberal.
So they were married in 1954, the year after I was born. They lasted a lot longer than my parents did.
A remarkable run. Congratulations to them.
Wow...that’s a story I never heard before... where did that come from?
oh Robert downey jr. was giving a speech or interview and came out with it. And she could never face kirk, would leave hollywood parties in tears. Her mother after the incident said what did you do? Great hollywood mom.
Our paths crossed on a flight from LAX to Palm Springs in the early 1960’s. He was standing up in the aisle and talking to some people who were seated. I was only a couple of rows away and got a good look at him. He is not a tall man.
