Arab/Levantine food (like Hummus, Falafel etc.) has been introduced to the US by Christians (mostly from Lebanon) for quite some time.

It’s regional cuisine and neither ‘Muslim’ as some think, nor ‘Israeli’ as some want consumers to believe.

The Hummos I buy (when I’m too lazy to make my own) is made by an Israeli Company (Sabra.)

The person who first introduced me to this dish was not Arab by a long shot - he was Armenian. And it’s a regular part of the Armenian menu at an old Chicago restaurant, Sayat Nova, where it is served with raw lamb Kibbe.

Safe to say I would be eating Kibbe and Hummos without the help of any Moslem invaders.

It's time for someone to introduce bacon flavored hummus. We Americans are great at cultural appropriation. Our best pizzas are an improvement on the stuff in Italy.

My hummus brand has nothing to do with Muslims. lol
