It must have been a bloater at some point. Missing the smell of that oozing down from an unventilated roof space is quite an achievement.
Having found several Bloaters hanging in trees over the years I can vouch for the intensity of the perfume.

Oh yeah. I once had to open an apartment after the old lady hadn’t been seen for quite awhile. Smell was intense. I didn’t even go in, just called the fuzz.
