Lots of countries make much more capable frigates than a putting lipstick on a pig LCS. Wouldn’t it better to but one a model off the shelf and produce it under license at US shipyards. Of course that won’t happen because less opportunity for graft.

The program needs to canceled and the existing ships converted into something useful. If that is even possible.

Any do-everything product results in trade offs. The Navy is ignoring the lessons of the Adams class McNamara influenced destroyers built in the 60’s.

It comes down to “You can’t pour 10 gallons of shit into a one gallon container.”

Mabus can be blamed for some of the stupid names, but this isn't his baby.

It goes back a generation when some Rummy found the quote "I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way".

Enter the LCS "Streetfighter" small, fast, heavily armed, cheep.

Then they decided it had to be trans ocean self-deployable. As it grew missions were added. Result neither fish, nor fowl, or good red herring.

What is the Littoral Combat ship for? According to CNO Admr. Greenart, it was littoral Combat Ship" was "never intended to venture into the littorals to engage in combat".
