It has never happened to me like this before. Yesterday, I stopped at a little taqueria just east of Austin to get something to eat. As I was waiting, a big, stocky black guy holding a roll of paper towels under his arm came up to me and asked me if I wanted my windshield cleaned for $1. I said, "No, I'm good." He kept on, saying "Hey, just give me $1. Can't you see I'm trying to work to get money for a taco?"
I politely declined, telling him my finances were tight due to car repairs and trying to pay for school for my son. He began to get upset and then looked at me and said, "You're racist!" and some other babble I didn't quite catch. He looked at my wedding ring and said he used to have one, but he sold it. I asked him, "How can I be racist if my wife is a native of Mexico?" "Why would I marry a Mexican if I were racist?" He shot back, "She's not black!"
The poor little woman in the taco trailer told him she'd make him a taco for free(to shut him up) and he settled down. Now, my question is this: Is this a hate crime, trying to extort money off of people as they go to a taco trailer trying to get something to eat? What if I were to have tried that on someone? Police probably would have been called. This has left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. I blame Obama and all Democrats for this. They have so divided people that a lot of blacks have been enabled in treating everyone else in an abusive manner. My CCW was in the car which kept me from telling the man what I wanted to tell him and things probably would not have ended well for the street thief. How sad to put oneself in a position to die over trying to extort $1 off of someone. This nation is going to hell in a handbasket.
I saw this youtube video where some white dude, on video, trolled random urban black males into fisticuffs.
The white dude would then take off his shorts and underwear and jump around and yell like a crazy idiot, and *every* last black dude took off running away as fast as they could.
The white dude did this multiple times and each time the black dude took off running.
Something to be aware of if you are in a desperate situation without a weapon and with no available help.
If someone asks for money for food, I usually offer to buy them a sandwich. That sends about half of them scurrying away, and the other half probably needs the sandwich, and I’m glad to help.
At least it was apparent he wanted the money to buy a taco and not heroin.
I never gave a testimony to a stranger. But recently, I started carrying at least a few dollars in cash so that I can try to initiate the conversation.
The last time I was asked for money, it was a guy in a grocery store parking lot. He had his hood open and claimed he needed to buy transmission fluid. I thought that was total bologna, but gave him the money anyway.
Pull a pistol and chamber a round and you can be charged with brandishing.
Never pull a weapon unless you are going to shoot it.
Not going to happen ever. For fifty years we've spoiled an absolutely entitled demographic so that, every time they throw a tantrum, they get what they want.
As long as they get votes, politicians will pimp for them. And the problem goes on.

Ha Ha! I love it! Yep! ALL people from EVERY nationality and walk of life recognizes when another person “ain’t right in the head”! Acting like a nut or a ‘mentally challenged’ person will usually keep most people at a distance. Of course if a person acted that way in too passive of a manner, they’d be seen as easy prey. The shouting “GTF away!!!” certainly keeps one from being seen as too passive!
Don’t bother trying to defend yourself against “racism.” If someone says that to me, I just shrug and stare at them. I’m done. That crap doesn’t work on me anymore.
I work very close to 290 and Parmer lane. Which taco place was it so I can keep an eye open?
either stop being anywhere these people are, OR be courageous in your life and stand up to the thugs.....

First, don’t go anywhere in EAST Austin. Second, don’t eat food from a truck. Third, don’t talk to those type people. Ignore them. Fourth, the bad taste in your mouth is from the taco. Just kidding. These panhandlers near UT harrass the co-eds. They’re not allowed on the side of the street closest to the school.
It’s a comfortable go-cart.
I’m just a 62 year old that puts 150 miles a day on Kentucky twisties and on street legal autocross tires. I drift every day and smile a lot more than that. I’ve had it for a little over three years and have 110,000 fun filled miles on it.
Manual six speed.
Apparently it is becoming quite the go-to car now in the ricer circuit. I can not emphasise the fun factor enough on that car. 19” center of gravity, rear wheel drive fully independent and limited slip.
Did I say go-kart? I meant slot car.
I’ve owned 24 cars in my life, including a Vega GT and a fairly tricked out Opel GT. Nothing I’ve owned came close to the thrill of driving this car.
Oh, and 33mpg average...
Only down side: I’m on my sixth set of tires. But that’s the cornering I do. It’s on me.
After her divorce in the early 70’s my mom was waitressing at Denny's. A black guy who was a “regular” kept asking her for a date and she always declined politely. One night he pulls the race card “You won't go out with me because I'm black!”.
My mom looked him square in the eye and says: “It's not because you're black, it's because you're an a$$hole”. Probably would not be a “safe” reply these days.

The only two instances of black on white racism I’ve encountered personally was within the first few months of Obama being elected in 2008.

Years later, I had one approach me with one of those pen knives where the blade had a rounded edge and asked me for money. I told him I didn't have any and he asked if I didn't have it or I wasn't giving it. I told him it didn't matter because one way or the other, he wasn't getting it. By then he had time to get a better look at me (I was very athletic and muscular which wasn't obvious by my slacks and shirt) and he opted to try elsewhere.
Some things never change....
I look at it like this: How do we KNOW whether or not the person asking for help is legit? I would rather err on the side of giving a helping hand rather than turn away someone who perhaps is really in need. Of course our Me, Me, Me society would readily disagree. What goes around comes around.
you do know that Spokane has only got about a 2-3% black population don’t you?....we probably have more Russians than blacks....
You are in Texas and you are unarmed? What ever happens to you is you own fault.
