Have you ever tried to break up a fight by yourself? It’s very tough to do. If you grab one participant, you’ve set them up for the second participant to severely injure. You also run the risk of having both participants turn on you. I think he probably did what he was trained to do.

True, I’ve only ever done that when both the guys fighting were friends that I knew wouldn’t turn on me.

However, bouncers do that stuff all the time and they usually get the job done pretty well. Of course, bouncers do not tend to be 5’5” pear-shaped women.
