Not fake and the image you post is slightly after the time image I posted and after Barret reached forward progress and was pushed back. You can tell it's a different point in time by comparing the right arm of number 88. This
video once slowed down shows number 88's right arm coincident with your image after Barret is starting to be pushed back. ie 88's arm swinging down and to the right matches the time Barret is pushed back. Use youtube's option to set the speed to 0.25 and start at 33 seconds which is when the broadcast also slows the video down. Very clearly you can see Barret is pushed back after he reaches forward progress, then when the right arm swings down, that is when your image happens.

here. J.T. is carrying the ball under the right side of his chin - other footage shows this. At the 7 second portion of this video, you can see the tip of the football poking out from under his right arm and clearly over the line. First down!
It's a real image you posted in that it was a pic taken at the time, but the reason I called it fake was simple, just look at the yard markers, the original photo shows just how angled they are, your picture had it photoshopped to distort that fact. The yard markers in the original photo show that your pic was taken from more than five yards back, which distorts what happened. Mine was down the line.
If you watch the video, OSU players nearby are despondent, they knew, while UM players were jubilant, they knew as well.
As I said to another poster, only OSU partisans who watched that game think that OSU was the better team, most everyone else who watched knows better.
Sad, but true.
That being said, I am sadder for the situation that happened yesterday on the OSU campus. That was something far more significant and sobering than a football game. Best of luck to all OSU students and grads on handling the horror of what took place.
