'Who the **** has tomatoes and beans for breakfast?’ US foodies are NOT impressed with English dine
Daily Mail (U.K.) ^ | November 23, 2016 | Imogen Blake

There are some things the British do very well, and breakfast is one of them.

But one English diner has proved that the UK is not always able to recreate morning meals from other countries to quite the same standard.

A photo of a so-called 'American' breakfast at a roadside restaurant somewhere in England has gone viral for not remotely resembling what Americans eat in the morning.

The picture, posted on Reddit by JeffSergeant, outraged Americans for pairing items in a traditional English fry-up with pancakes and waffles.

Beans, tomatoes, eggs, bacon or sausage, a few good tortillas. My favorite breakfast. But I’d call it more Mexican or TexMex. Need cheese n salsa too tho.

Google the recipe for haggis, it’s completely horrifying.

Robert Burns, Scotland's most famous poet described it as health food, noting that haggis, "the chieftain of the pudding race" gives a Scotsman the power to make his sword whistle and slash the arms, legs and heads off his enemies.

I happen to like haggis and will be feasting on it at the next Robert Burns Night dinner and dance in two months.

Well, as an American speaking in defense of the English, we have been bastardizing Mexican food for a long time now. What Texans have done to Mexican food is atrocious. Texans went and just put American gravy all over the few bits of Mexican food that they decided were ok to eat.

You like what you like, enjoy it.

It doesn’t matter what you eat for breakfast.
When I was very young, I didn’t like any of the breakfast foods that were prepared in my home, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, etc.
My doctor told my mom that she should let me eat soup if that was what I wanted to eat .. because it was better than my going without food in the morning. As I grew older, I began to acquire a taste for the traditional breakfast; now, I can eat traditional breakfast at any time of day.

I’m pretty sure any haggis served in the US is missing “lung”, the Feds banning its sale and/or inclusion in any food stuff.

The fried English breakfast is supposedly a hangover cure.

“The best part about an English breakfast is that it enables one to avoid both an English lunch and an English dinner.”

Here’s a sample of what Japan has done to pizza - Shimp, Mayonaise, Potato, Bacon, https://pizzahut.jp/pc/pizza/W000002916-002.

Fortunately, we can also get proper American style meat and vegetable pizzas.

They cost up to $40.00 for what we could consider a small or medium pizza in the States though. It’s outrageously expensive, and I still have yet to find out why. There must be a pizza cabal price fixing scheme or something here.

"“The best part about an English breakfast is that it enables one to avoid both an English lunch and an English dinner.” "

That is definitely the truth. The breakfasts were the best meal of the day.

Agree. The guy who posted this Reddit pic is a whiny @$$. Oh the horror he got beans and tomatoes for breakfast.

About your breakfast Italy, you really did follow the advice, "when in Rome!"

Isn’t there a saying,” If you want to eat well in England, you eat breakfast three times a day!”
