I have seen what it did to my state. Im actually quite angry about it.
I'm aware that this is a perspective that exists. I'm aware that it correlates with Trump voters.
However, that's not that same as saying that it will reflect Trump policy.
We don't know what Trump will do. I intend to remain calm, even indifferent, until he's inaugurated and does something. Once that happens, I will agree or disagree, with more or less interest depending on how it affects me.
It is a perspective that exists because folks have had to deal with it. I have delt with it for several decades.
You see the sweet faces and people concerned. I see the hard cold reality that those sweet concerned faces have cause me, my family, and people I know. For me this has absolutely nothing to do with Trump, other than the fact that he is the vehicle that will bring change. And he will bring it over twenty years too late.
I watched Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, and Romney duck this problem. When I found out Cruz helped Bush formulate his avoidence catch-phrases to wiggle around illegal immigration enforcement, it ended my support for him. Let me explain why.
In the early 1990s, the medical center I worked in had to deal with government DRGs. The government didn't care what your costs were, they told hospitals what they would pay. If you provided services at a loss, they didn't give a darn. Then insurance companies did the same thing. And then illegal immigrants decided the United States owed them free health care and free education for their kids. It didn't stop there. They found ways to get many government services.
In my facility, we had to cut workers. Further, we outsourced jobs. One day an employee was working for the hospital and the next they were making half to three fourths as much doing the same job. Why? It was the only way the hospitals could survive. "Indigents" would come to the hospital and demand service. They couldn't pay, so the hospitals had to give our care for free. In one 15 month period, eight trauma centers closed in the city of Los Angels or just ouside. Citizens who were serviced by those trauma centers travel time to emergency services went up by thirty minutes. That's not a great fact, when it's your family member needing life and death health care.
Then hospitals did everything they could to cut costs other ways. They cut staff. They hired in others to do the same job for less money under a new title. They cut back on cleaning. Hallways that had always been emaculate were in a short period of time run down looking, with dull floors and walls that needed paint.
How bad was the indigent problem. We had one person (1), get admitted to our hospital. He couldn't pay. He refused to be discharged for about nine months. During this period of time the medical center had to cover his nursing staff, housekeeping services, meals, and other incidentals. His family got to the point they brought in suitcases and carrid out linens. This guy ran up a bill in the nighborhood of $600,000 dollars. He never paid one red cent of it. There was probably a contributing factor, but I know that he was given reasoned options to help cut the expense, and he refused all the way.
This was during the time when the staff at the instituation was on a wage freeze for seven years. This one guy's bill could have paid a significant chunk of the cost of living raises.
I placed my children in parochial school. At about the third grade it became difficult to keep them there. The cost was more than we could afford. We tried placing them in the local elementary school. There they sat in school all day reading, while the illegal immigrant children were taught English. Then at recess time the little illegal immigrant kids would pick on the few White kids left at the school. I had not idea it was that bad. I yanked my kids out and put them back at parochial school. This made a servere hardship on us. We weren't the only ones.
Our schools in the region couldn't handle all the illegal immigrant children flooding in. About six years ago, the second larges construction project in the United States behind Boston's Big-Dig, was the Los Angeles Unified School District's school building program. And at that, they still couldn't build the schools fast enough to house all the illegal immigrant chiclren. Bonds! Higher taxation! More freebies by the tens of billions, while other parts of infrastructure went wanting. Roads, community upkeep, police, fire, other public services, were all being stressed to the point of failure.
Crime came along with it. MS-13 entered the nation via this criminal enterprise. It's now nationwide. During the Los Angeles Riots around 1992 you could see the live video feed of all the minorities flooding businesses and carting off stolen merchandise. Of the first thousands of people arrested for looting, a very high percentage were illegal immigrants. We're talking 75 to 90%. I don't remember the exact figures any longer.
Today in the city of Los Angeles, less than 50% of the adult males can function in business English.
Five years ago I accompanied family members to their swim team events. During that period of time I visited five half billion dollar Los Angeles highschools, almost totally inhabited by illegal immigrants. On one such event we went to the school, and one of the student standing around remarked about how "too white" our swim team was. It's was probably 75% Hispanic.
So I've had my income, my job, my health care, my children's education, our family finances, our regional health care facilities, our regional education system, and the crime that comes out of nowhere when you least expect it, impacted by those darling illegal immigrants that are really concerned.
To them one and all, I know exactly how they feel. I play by the rules. They have not.
SEND THOSE PEOPLE HOME. CITIZENS COME FIRST. OUR INFRASTRUCTURE COMES FIRST.
OUR FAMILIES COME FIRST. OUR HEALTH CARE COMES FIRST. OUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION COMES FIRST.
If Trump can get things back under control, he'll have rescued this nation more than you can comprehend.
There are too many issues to even cover without essentially writing a book. I'll mention just one.
Automobiles accidents cause a lot of damage. Out here the illegals would have an accident and run. They had no insurance and nobody knew who the driver was. Guess who pays for stuff like that. People who play by the rules do, because their premiums are impacted by insurance company losses. Catch one of them and take them to court. They never show up. They go back to Mexico or move to another region of the nation under a different name.
Sorry, I'm all sympathied out when it comes to these darling people.
