Trump and Pence vs. ‘Hamilton’ cast: A collision of two Americas
Washington Post ^ | November 19 at 8:32 PM | Philip Rucker

Posted on 11/19/2016 7:36:31 PM PST by BenLurkin

“We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir,” said Brandon Victor Dixon, the actor who played Aaron Burr, reading a statement the cast members had drafted together.

“But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us,” he continued.

...

Trump being Trump, the president-elect punched back.

“The Theater must always be a safe and special place,” Trump tweeted. “The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!”

There was a certain irony to Trump’s demand, considering that as a candidate he rarely if ever apologized for the blizzard of insults he sprayed across the country.

...

Trump’s defenders rushed to condemn the “Hamilton” cast and voice outrage at perceived disrespect. His supporters started a “#BoycottHamilton” campaign on Twitter — although “Hamilton” tickets are such a hot commodity that the production is sold out well into next year.

“The arrogance and hostility of the Hamilton cast to the Vice President elect (a guest at the theater) is a reminder the left still fights,” tweeted former House speaker Newt Gingrich, an informal Trump adviser.

Rumor has it that Hamilton is supposed to be brilliant. If one hates rap(as I do) why would anyone spend the money to see it? I’m glad my tastes are simple. I have no desire to see it. Now I would pay money to see Les Mis, Wicked, or Jersey Boys. Hamilton—you couldn’t pay me to see it. JMHO

Wish there were a Trump job for her...

Well, he's going to need a Supreme Court Justice.

Well, he's going to need someone to head up the National Endowment for the Arts.

Sounds to me like they are worried that the Trump administration is going to be a continuation of the post-constitutional government that we’ve been dealing with for the past eight years ;)

Sad fact is, Old Ben is unlikely to ever travel from his hovel in the desert to the Big Apple and take in a show on Broadway or off.

the more the liberal left behaves in this way the more marginalized they will become.

Wow!!! Wonder how the Judge really feels?!!!

Sadly they won’t be forced to listen to her on their evenings out enjoying their free time. Like they did to him.

Relax after a hard fought campaign - now that is a nice normal thought.

This is why President Trump went out to dinner without the horrible presstitutes in tow. He wanted to relax with his family and knew the press would spoil it.

So sad for VP Pence that the libtards in NYC spoiled his attempt to relax a bit.

Victor on Twitter posted this regarding Friday night's insult of VP-Elect Mike Pence by the actors and audience at the Broadway musical, "Hamilton."

The big lie that Trump is a racist sexist “you name it” as Hillary said, and that he will act on these impulses to hurt Americans once he becomes president is already being imprinted on the weakminded of the country - it will be used as a justification for belittling and nullifying all that he tries to do for the duration of his administration - it’s going to be a long and bitter struggle to keep the truth from being buried......

I have seen FReepers defend this show. Considering that so many libs love it, and that it's rap, and that the cast is a bunch of assholes, I don't see how any one can defend this show or want to see it. I, for one will depart this vale of tears having never seen Hamilton.

Response to Dixon should have been made on the spot. Here's a sample:

(VP Pence approaching front of stage quickly)

Just a minute young man! Now, you listen to me! The nation has just elected me as VP along with Donald Trump as President. You are just an actor in a play and you have no right to address higher authority in this manner, with that tone and language. If you were to say the same to me in private, that would be fine. However, you have humiliated me in front of this audience and the nation without cause. You owe me an apology.

(Turns with SS detail and leaves theater quickly).

Should say Democrat instead of liberals.

Nobody is going to believe Booth was a liberal.

It is discourteous that the cast of Hamilton chose to air their political views at their show while Pence was in attendance.

It was neither the time or place. He came to see a show just like everyone else.

The Broadway show Hamilton is Diversity itself!

The actors screwed up. In their arrogance and self loathing, they made a bad decision to single out someone in their audience.

Encourage conservative ticket buyers to set their cellphone’s ringtone to the presidential anthem “Hail to the Chief”, and let it rip full volume during the play. Repeatedly, and say “So sorry, but I’m upholding American values in response to your request to VP Pence!”. Disrupt their crappy play, like democrat protesters disrupted traffic in major cities. Time to fight back.

(Several of these threads out on FR, I’ll post same to each!)
