Most late-night shows were on hiatus on Election Night in favor of news coverage, so when they returned to their posts on Wednesday, they had plenty to talk about.
Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah aired live shows on Tuesday, sharing somber messages as well as their usual lighthearted jokes and monologues. Other hosts followed suit on Wednesday, including Samantha Bee, Conan O'Brien, Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert and James Corden.
On TBS, O'Brien spoke to his audience about history. "Today is a really strange day," said the host. "Half the country is really happy, half the country is somewhere between despondent and furious."
Speaking about history, he reminded the audience that "We have been here before. We have had bitter, angry elections for 200 years."
"In America, we get to choose who's going to ruin our country," he continued, saying that he chose to remain positive and be thankful "that we have fair and free elections at all."
Meyers' Late Night was largely a reflection on his coverage of Trump thus far and a hopeful message for the future first female president.
"Well, that was a real grab in the p----," Meyers began, adding that because he's been wrong on every single prediction he's had of Trump so far, "he's probably going to be a great f--king president."

You created "us" when you decided to let our government get out of control.
You created "us" when you forced man-made global warming down our throats.
You created "us" when you destroyed important industries (coal) and went into the automobile business (GM--government Motors).
You created "us" when you failed to convict greedy bankers for the economic failure in the mortgage industry.
"You" created "us" the silent majority.
And we became fed up and we pushed back and spoke up.
And we did it with ballots, not bullets."

I didn’t catch Fallon who is usually down the middle of the fairway. He is, BTW, a registered Republican but changed that to Independent when he took over from Leno.
The “monster” they created is, fortunately for them, civilized.
But in 2008 and then again in 2012, that didn't matter, did it? Because "your guy" won?
The next time you nominate a Democratic candidate, nominate one that doesn't have a ridiculous track record of scandal and doesn't appear to be physically too old for the job. You got spoiled by the young and energetic Barack Obama and with Hillary Clinton barely showing up for rallies until the very end, that turned off a lot of voters.
Not many smug, condescending libs could be that honest. I wonder if deep down a lot these "professional Hillary supporters" hated having to go on with this charade. Now they are liberated.

We fell asleep watching TV so late going to bed, hubby always turns on the TV in the bedroom. When I walked in jimmy kimmel (SP?) was TRASH talking President Elect Trump, I quickly turn his blowhard butt off found a C & W classic music station.
