WASHINGTON As the Brexit polls closed the night of June 23, then-UKIP leader Nigel Farage predicted a loss for his Leave campaign. Much to his delight, that prediction turned out to be quite inaccurate.
Now Farage has some wisdom to impart on his friend and fellow populist agitator Donald Trump as the U.S. polls close and the results roll in tonight: Keep your mouth shut.
My advice to Trump is say nothing, Farage told POLITICO by phone today from London. He added that I feel just as I felt on the day of Brexit.
Farage told reporters the night of the referendum that it looks like Remain will edge it and blamed young voters for depriving the United Kingdom of its sovereignty. Either way, whether I am right or wrong, if we do stay part of this European Union, it is doomed, he said.
Several hours later, the results from working class northern Britain started flooding in, turning the tide and delivering a victory for Leave.
Based on recent statements, Trump is unlikely to give in easily tonight if he loses he even said Tuesday, I want to see what happens, you know, how it goes.

I noticed what Wikileaks guy Julian Assange said last week in an interview: That Trump won’t win because he won’t be allowed to win. That guy scares the hell out of me because I tend to believe him, that this government we have now is more corrupt than anybody has ever imagined. Land of the free, and as history has shown us, a country can fall into totalitarianism at the drop of a hat.
The friend I’ve spoken of previously told me that taking the files to DC and Comey’s Sunday pronouncement meant that while Hillary could well be installed come January, she would be eliminated +/- 1 year for all the s#it she’s in and has caused. Kaine is the real Manchurian. NWO
I agree, but. Maybe he’s trying to scare people into voting. OTOH, may be preparing us for a reality.
Could?
(I’ll spare you all the pajoratives I might throw at a Brit)
I’m in Massachusetts and voted for Trump. Which is like pissing into the wind. However, I did put in my yes vote for legal weed.
Good for you. Legal weed cuts down on crime, and if done right , helps state budget
The suppression of religious rights has shown that totalitarianism is certainly here; as a white guy it was clear when legal discrimination was allowed to continue via affirmative action.
