The Japanese and Koreans are also quite crazy about octopus. They even like to eat it while it’s still alive, with a bit of soya sauce for extra flavor.
There was a place in D.C. that had the best Gyros I ever ate, with real feta cheese. Makes all the difference in the world. My memory tells me that the place was called Frisco’s, but it has been 20+ years since I ate there so I could be mistaken.
Actually it really is good. Been there done that. Another way of preparing octopus is pickled. The arms are cut up and pickled and served in a salad. It is absolutely delectable. Fried squid is also great.
