Mrs SLB and I took our grandson on a tour of The Hermitage last week. The gardens still looked decent, with lots of herbs still going gangbusters. Also went to the Nashville zoo and enjoyed the gardens adjacent to the farmhouse. Got some ideas for a potting bench that she has been after me to build for her.
Hauled about 75 bushels of leaves to our garden and used the mower on them this past Saturday. Will go ahead and run the tiller over them some night this week after I get home if it is light enough. Started splitting next years supply of firewood yesterday. Like to have it done 8 to 12 months out so it cures nicely.
We have gotten lazy about using the fireplace. Still have a big stock of wood from 2 years ago.
