I always thought my experiencing Watergate was a once in a lifetime experience. I’m pretty sure now, I’m wrong. This has the same “feel” that one did ... sort of creeping forward, but unraveling as it approached. This one has that same “feel.” I bet they get Obama ensnared in this one for sure.
This is much worse than Watergate. Nixon was a flawed man, but I believe he was a Patriot.
It was like everything closed in on Nixon and then the TAPES were discovered and it was Katy bar the door.
Big difference is the media. Then the drum beat was impeachment. All summer, everyday, the press turned up the heat. Here the safeguards of democracy are aiding the theft and corruption. Without a viable, non violent means to fight this, the country seems destined for anarchy
I feel the same way, but this time Watergate is playing out right across an election in a very compressed way.
