It is just an e-mail by a Georgetown Law employee to Georgetown Law general mailing list probably going out to thousands. Only reason it is under scrutiny is that for some reason Podesta was subscribed to this list (probably because he is an alumni and a visiting lector). No reason to think Podesta has ever even met the beanie baby guy.

...My parents are visiting this weekend, and I need to sell my enormous collection of beanie babies! Ive approximately 480 little creatures of joy, and Im selling each one for $20.00. You must buy all 480, though. It is a collection (not an auction)... They are very respectful and amicable with one another, and they are (for the most part) cat and dog friendly. Some are sassier than others, naturally.
Please let me know! My parents cant find out.

So you think this is a Beanie Baby collection that his parents can’t see? And the Beanie Babies are very respectful and amicable.
I don’t think so. Of the thousands on the list, maybe 10 know what he is talking about. Hide in plain site.
And normalcy bias can blind you.
Trust but verify. Works for me.
Seriously Krosan?
You actually believe that a law student or law professor is sitting on a $10,000 Beanie Baby Collection waiting for a fellow faculty /student member to purchase it “this weekend” before mumsy & daddy come for a visit.
The happiest scenario at this point is that it’s only a dope offer and not child trafficking.
