I just posted on another thread....

My mom took a jacket over to O’hare to get the team to sign it when they disembarked the plane...She had gotten permission...back in those days, things were different. Was for my brother’s birthday==he ws probably 10 years old...Team had Ernie & Ron Santo ...Sadly, it was stolen :( But always very special memory from a special time.

There will be people carrying the ashes of their parents and/or grandparents to or even in the parade, I guarantee this.

I hope Ryne Sandberg will be in the parade. Great player, entire career in Chicago, little known outside Illinois.

Ernie will be there one way or another.
