'Coffee should not come with political brainwashing!' Anger at Starbucks over green 'unity' cups...
Daily Mail ^ | Nov. 2, 2016 | AP, Miranda Bryant

An attempt by Starbucks to unify the country ahead of Election Day with a green coffee cup has backfired after angry customers threatened to boycott the chain.

The company said the cups - which were unveiled on Tuesday and feature a drawing of more than 100 people drawn with one line - were intended to remind Americans of their 'shared values' at a 'divisive time in our country'.

But the move appears to have angered rather than united customers. Some thought it had replaced the company's traditional red Christmas drinking vessels, while others accused the brand of pushing a political agenda.

I went to a Starbucks once around 10 years ago. Way overpriced and tasted like something they filtered through Earl Campbell’s dirty socks.

Never went back. No Dunkin Donuts around here, if they were I’d be a regular. Worked there in hte 70’s, my mother ran one. At that time coffee was about a buck a pound, Dunkin was paying $4 for theirs. Best coffee in town. I Had strict instructions from the boss (yeah my mother) to NEVER let it sit more than 18 minutes, even if I had to pour out a full pot, brew another and throw it out.

After 18 minutes coffee starts to evaporate and gets bitter, and we had a reputation for the best coffee in the Houston area. I probably made 30 pots of coffee every morning starting about 4AM, I was amazed how many people came in to have thermos bottles filled. And paid well for it...I’d pour myself a cup if I wanted some, pour the rest down the drain and make another. From 4 to 7 AM I kept 4 pots going at all times. Never had to pour one out, only in the wee hours around 2 to 3 when nobody was around and I was busy filling and glazing fresh donuts. At about 4 I had to be finished, I’d be at the counter till 7 nonstop...

I bought some Christmas themed sticky labels, so I can affix them to Starbucks holiday cups and thwart the secular atheists in charge of Starbucks! My wife was dumbfounded that I did it, couldn’t understand why it was so important to do that.

I just feel like Starbucks is throwing their anti-Christian secularism and multi-culturalism in our faces, and I wanted to throw a little traditional Christmas spirit back in theirs.

Most people I know stopped patronizing them when Starbucks showed leftist tendencies.

Amen on The Dutch Brothers!

I live in the same town they do, and when their family’s dairy farm was forcibly shut down by the ODEQ, the Boersma brothers decided to start their Dutch Brothers coffee stands.

Their first stand was a little coffee cart in the parking lot of a department store. I had know Dane Boersma casually around town and as I walked up to the front entrance I saw he and his brother with their little coffee stand. They explained about their dairy being shut down, and their new idea for a coffee stand, so I bought a cup of coffee from them.

It was the first week of business for them, and who would’ve thought that two guys pushing a little coffee stand would someday turn out to be a multi-million dollar coffee empire!
