The season five premiere with the Termites was also rough, and the first four episodes of that season. It got better as the season went on until by the end they had found a sanctuary in Alexandria.
All the pieces are being put into place for that to happen again this season. I think Eugene will finally come through and save everyone.
And this may be harsh, but I am glad they won't be having any more Glen loses Maggie, Glen finds Maggie story lines any more. That was getting tiresome.
The last two HEY CORAL memes, I made up myself. :)
Thought is was a great episode.
Kind of a reboot episode for TWD, going in a whole new direction.
Over 17 million viewers watched too.
Yes, but not unexpected. We all knew someone was going to be on the other end of "Lucille". My guess, since last year's finale, was Glenn; which, was confirmed by my daugher who has read the comics. Abraham was a surprise to me. I normally don't go in for a lot of gore in my viewing habits. But, I have become so attached to these characters that I seem to have decided to just go on the journey.
If you think about this over the years, then the fact that the world is getting a lot less hospitable should come as no surprise. Megalomaniacs coming out of the woodwork to get whatever power that they can would seem likely since fewer people; but also, less in the way of supplies.
My daughter had informed me at the end of last season to prepare myself, because Neegan was really, really nasty. She was right.
They are following the graphic novel. This is the story.
In past seasons we have already seen the brooding,
morose, and detached Rick Grimes. I will likely not
stick around if that character returns. On the
other hand if he cooperates the minimum amount
with Negan while plotting Negan’s demise then my
interest may survive. Let’s see the plotting,
sneaky, vengeful Rick for a while. He doesn’t need
to broadcast those intentions to all but he should
pick a few trusted cohorts and secretly plan.
Maybe he could come up with a way to free Darrell
and then get everyone the hell away from there.
Of course there is the King and his group
story to develop. I don’t discount any of that.
Exactly. This was foreshadowed for YEARS on the show.
I'll admit I think the opener was over the top. I'm not sure the sense in beating the victims' brains to jelly. I think it would have been just as shocking (and not quite as nauseating) if Negan had just bashed them once or twice. Message received. So to go to the porn lengths ... Not smart.
That said, you can expect a repeat of the navel-gazing claptrap we've seen for the last couple of seasons while Rick & Co. figure out a way to topple Negan. Expect Carol to come out of nowhere and who knows about Daryl ...
The writers are gaming us.
someone posted the Graphic novel

Me too.
The novelty of the zombies has worn off.
After last week I’m almost afraid to watch.
I need to catch. I just finished season 1 (in two viewing sessions) last night.
It may take a few weeks...
8^)
The loony liberal nurse who, in the middle of a disaster, takes the time to release chickens? All I could think was, you’re too stupid to live.
On, please. Thanks!

Looking forward to some civility this week. ;-)
I’d love to have a pet tiger.
Thanks for the ping. I was busy in the kitchen and nearly forgot to turn on the TV. Caught the end of last week’s episode right where they showed the Dinner with Glen and the toddler.
Reminded of that old saying to the effect of the saddest words - what might have been.
Just have to say one more time and not just this season, Rick really is a Dumb A_ _. Didn’t bother to recon the group to see how big and strong it was, didn’t bother to find out for sure who and where Negan was, and couldn’t keep his darn mouth shut.
He could learn something from Carol, about playing along with things till you can really do something about it.
Corny episode so far ... until now. This is getting interesting.
