Watched this episode twice now.
Just brutal. Damn!
Can’t believe that they succeeded in creating a villain so much more villainous than the Governor, but they did.
I thought it was a very good episode. It sticks with the premise of the show that I get, which is that mankind is the most dangerous monster.
It also demonstrates how one person can control many by use of certain tactics and techniques, which is visible in reality with ISIS, and I fear our own government will be this way soon enough.
Wolves and sheep.
Anyway, Negan is going to have to pay a substantial price. I assume the bill will be collected with his axe, but it can’t just be chop, chop, you’re dead.
It’s going to have to be epic.
What a bastard!

I really liked Glenn and hate it when anyone that's made it from season 1 dies. I think the writers have to separate the comic and tv show completely because comics are so different form tv and we're basically given the show in advance. If I read what a saw in a comic tonight, it's be “eh..move on.” On a tv show it was overly grotesque and not right after what we went through with Glenn's character last season and he earned a better death scene. I see a lot of people of FB saying they will never watch again. We'll see, but if so that will hit the bottom line and AMC won't like that.

Oh my goodness! After the show, I felt drained. I think Negan thought out his actions vs just going on instinct. He left Rick (the leader) and broke him into submission. Why? So he could lead the remaining group to get stuff for Negan. He killed two male characters and took one male away as hostage. In short, he left Rick with the women/children/less than leadership males. I will say this: I have seen a lot of horror movies/war movies/etc... and my stomach actually turned last night. I think we are off to an awesome season.

Being a series long follower of TWD, I definitely have mixed emotions about this opener. It was way over the top too graphic for me and I'm not sure I'm going to watch any more episodes.
I will however follow these threads and when the time comes that Negan gets his, I will gladly watch that one............
As a side note, if I see the actor who plays Negan at my local Meijers, I'll kill him on the spot...........

The Walking Dead premiere kills it: Second-highest ratings ever
The Season 7 premiere, which revealed who new villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed with his barbed-wire baseball bat, drew an 8.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 17.03 million viewers. Thats second only to the Season 5 premiere (8.7, 17.29 million) in Walking Dead history.

I’ve never watched it until the marathon the other day. Excellent. We recorded this episode and I may buy all of them. I didn’t realize that it was so well done.
