Andrew Miller, first non-closer reliever to win an MVP? I presume so. Sparky Lyle didn’t, did he?

Those two years are significant to the Cubs and the Indians, respectively, for different reasons.

1945 was the last year the Cubs appeared in the World Series. That was when Billy Sianis entered Wrigley Field during game four of the Series with his now famous goat, and was ejected. The Cubs lost that game, and the Series to Detroit. They haven't been back since.

The last time the Cubs won the Series was in 1908. They did win the pennant a number of times between 1908 and 1945 but lost the Series each time.

1954 is significant to the Indians. The Tribe appeared in the World Series in 1954, 1995, and last in 1997. They lost each time. The last time the Tribe won a Series was 1948.

Do you have a twitter? What does “don’t @ me” mean?

Also do you think if Wade Boggs had fielded that roller in game 6 of the ‘86 Series that he could have thrown out Ray Knight?
