LOL first time experience. I got robbed. One guy had gun, flashed it, other didn't. They got my phone, credit card (already cancelled) bank card (already cancelled) and a few bux (40).
I was pretty impressed with my reaction. Zero fear, total calm. If I was packing the gun dude would be dead and I would have had total control of my weapon, total calm means no trembling. I guess I'm good under pressure LOL
Probably happy they din't shoot me anyways, but everything I lost I can get back just fine. Boneheads. Kinda wish I was rollin heavy. I'd have two bodies under my belt. hehehehe
You did well and you’re fine. Good job. When you’re nervous it makes others nervous. When they get nervous they become more unpredictable

Happened to me. Had ptsd for about a year. Not debilitating but I’d wake up reliving it.

When I was underemployed, at the beginning of Obama’s first term, I was robbed at the store I managed. An there was only one customer in the store and he was a special agent for the Feds. That day he had forgotten his service weapon so he threw a pot of coffee in the perps face and the perp dropped most of the cash.
Later, as the police were still in the store he told me he had only once before forgot his weapon and he was really glad he did that day as he didn’t have to kill someone.
Not only do I carry everywhere I go but I train at least once every two weeks. I pray I never have to use my weapon. and I am glad you not only didn’t get hurt but also have to live with the thought of having to take a life, even if it was only a sub-human dirt bag robber.

I was robbed by 3 yutes brandishing a gun. I had zero fear, only annoyance with them.
This same group was robbing people up and down this particular block. Their M.O. was to make victims get on their knees and grovel, mostly about how great the Black Man is. Luckily, they got me during a snow storm and just took my Coach bag (filled with lots of goodies including my keys and checkbook with home address). The police parked a marked car outside my apartment until I could get my locks changed.
Anyway, I testified at their joint trial and they were convicted. As I was leaving the courthouse, the detective on the case called after me. He told me that the sister of one of the perps was following me, so he took me home. Who knows what she would have done to a little blue-eyed blonde, if she got her hands on me.
Damn! Other than having your pistol, what would you do differently? How did they get the drop on you?
Lurking in shadows and coming up a blindspot. My complex isn’t gated; now I know when I go outside, I’m heavy.
Also carry a very powerful tactical light. At night, pistol in right hand, light in left hand held with the beam-end past your little finger. As the pistol goes out in your right hand, your flashlight goes up in your left hand to just off your left shoulder, aiming forward. The beam is in in front of you and just off to the left. It will blind the bad guys, positively ID them, and the side-shine will illuminate your sights. You can shoot at night just like day this way, even if it’s one-handed. Or you can put a light on a rail on the pistol, but then it’s harder to holster, and the light is in line with your body. Either way, a tactical light should go with you at night anytime you carry a pistol. Just IMHO.

You can’t draw on a drawn gun.
Another idea that may have its uses: once you are carrying a super bright tactical light in your left pocket all the time, you can take it out anytime you like, it’s just a light, about 6” by 1” diameter. See some dark areas up a 100’? Light it up. Cockroaches hate the light. They thing the cops are out patrolling. It makes them fade. Or it shows them at a distance that works for you and not for them. All they see is the bright light, they can’t see you. You could be a pair of cops. They don’t like lights, and there is no law against shining bright lights into dark places at night.
