A German slingshot enthusiast took his hobby to the next level with a giant wooden slingshot capable of flinging a bowling ball more than 300 feet.

Joerg Sprave, star of The Slingshot Channel on YouTube, posted a video showing off the capabilities of his giant wooden slingshot using a bowling ball as a projectile.

The homemade weapon launched the ball a distance of more than 328 feet.

Sprave said he believes the slingshot could be adjusted to reach more than 430 feet.

I’ve watched many of his other videos and this guy is a hoot! He’s a German engineer who knows what he’s doing and loves his hobby!

When my buddy was shooting over my back, caught a rock to the back of the head.

‘splains a lot.

There’s quite a few bowling ball canon and mortar videos on Youtube. I love America.

You can ruin an individual’s whole day with a properly placed bowling ball. My suggestion is a few dozen eggs. A non-lethal alternative is a carved pumpkin. The ABSOLUTE BEST alternative is to quietly and peaceably request any unruly person to leave.

Assuming you replace the bowling ball with jimt, I’d love the ride.

From a friend:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

About 25 years ago, some guys were on tour with a human-powered trebuchet they’d built. People would pull ropes on the counter-weight end to launch a “cannonball” downrange.

“On the count of three... One... Two... THREE...!” the volunteers would pull, the shot would fire, and then the shot distance would be measured.

Then they counted off in French... “Un... Deux... TROIS...!”

And the shot went 10 yards shorter.

Then they counted in German... “Ein... Zwei... DREI...!” and the shot was 10 yards farther than in English!

They said that happens everyplace they went. “The lesson is...never make love in German, and never make war in French!”
