A Manhattan pharmacy has begun charging its male customers an extra 7 percent “man tax” as a protest against gender-based income inequality as well as a political move to promote Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.

I wonder if they can stay in business if they automatically lost half of their business?
Retail depends on the numbers
I guess they can put whatever charges they want to on purchases. One restaurant added a charge for what they pay waitstaff’s health insurance. I don’t expect this pharmacy to stay in business much longer with that policy.

Time to slap this place with a “going out of business” tax.
This woman would certainly not shop there!
In a high tax state and city like New York that will not go down well and the Legality of that is in serious doubt. Sounds like a good lawsuit and of course business loss will be a factor. Pharmacies are a dime a dozen in this world and you can bet their competitors will offer a lot to change over.
Real women should not shop there either!
Interesting question. Can a business tax different groups/categories at a whim?
Manipulation. Women will flock to the store even after it’s declared illegal. I’ve seen it done in S.F. with IRA’s 20 years ago. Women got a better rate. Translated into a lot of deposits. Men ended up with the same rate after women ate it up.
