OK, so Trump showed machismo when in a group of males by making "inappropriate" references to females. Machismo is the sense of being 'manly' and self-reliant, the concept associated with "a strong sense of masculine pride with the supreme valuation of characteristics culturally associated with the masculine and by implication some say, a denigration of characteristics associated with the feminine. It is associated with a man’s responsibility to provide for, protect, and defend his family. Old school? Maybe, but get a group of males together with testosterone flowing and machismo shows up. I wouldn't give a plugged nickle for any male without that characteristic. Liberals want to define the behavior as abhorrent. I could name a host of liberal behaviors I could define that way. Given a choice between them, macho is not so bad.

I don’t think I demeaned myself. I am just saying that I am not silly enough to claim to be able to defeat a person I don’t know. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
But I assure you you would not call me a snowflake in person without feeling it in your jaw.

But let’s be clear on what makes a man, and what doesn’t.
I am reasonably confident that we would agree on the real measure of a man. I was commenting on the whole “machismo” thing, which I don’t equate with real manhood anyway. I wouldn’t ever claim that any of the things I listed made me a real man.
I was simply saying that I didn’t see Trump’s comments as simple “guy talk”, and I was trying to show some credibility as a guy.
If you want to believe the truth, and you sacrifice your preferred beliefs in favor of the truth, then you can call yourself a man.
If you prefer to believe a lie, you’ve got big problems.
Got it. Passion about these things sometimes leads me to see fault where it doesn’t exist. My apologies.
It’s true his comments should be understood according to God’s rules. And by those rules, his comments are wrong.
But no more wrong than the comments of any man who later repents. As for the unrepentant, they will be judged by God.
I would like to comment on an experience I had with a woman a few years ago. It was a brief fling, nothing serious. We were both the same age (mid 40s at that time). Towards the end of our first date, while still in my car, we made out like two crazed teenagers for over two hours (couldn't go back to her home as her babysitter was watching her kids). And yes, my hands were quite "exploratory" all over her body. There was no hesitation. Didn't ask for permission. Just went for it. Good old fashioned heavy petting (with our clothes on, it was a cold night!). She did not object. She enjoyed it immensely and encouraged me to keep going. If she had objected, I certainly would have stopped at once.
What was interesting was what happened afterwards when she commented about my "exploratory" hands. This is what she said and I never forgot it:
I didn't think you had it in you. I'm impressed.
I wished to God I had asked her what she meant by that. I am guessing she thought I was the type that would hesitate or ask for permission to touch her like that. The point is that if people think what Trump said will offend so many women, they need to think again.
No harm done and no hard feelings. We can talk about it again some day and laugh, on this side or the other friend.
Maybe. Maybe not. If you're miked up for a TV program and talking while they're checking the sound or waiting for the interview to start it's not like somebody snuck a bug into the room and started recording you without your knowledge.

I am certainly open to correction. I read that he was newly married to Melania at the time. I watched the whole video, and at the end he references Melania when embracing the lady he had just been saying he might kiss.

I will simply say that your experience is fundamentally different from mine.
I am an ordained minister. I have never spoken like that - and I have been berated by both secular and (so-called) Christian males for my supposed lack of virility, and for my supposed lack of appreciation of female beauty.
Since I have emulated Paul by supporting myself rather than taking money for my teaching, I have had many secular jobs, and I have heard much speech like this at most of them. (I have therefore tended to keep to myself.)
I do not condone such behavior, but I do not consider it in any way unusual, especially for a New York businessman who has worked extensively in construction.
In other words, I would indeed say it is guy talk for a great many men.
To tell me I am wrong would be to say I have not heard what I have indeed heard - which would make you the flamer (by implying that I am a liar).

Hillary ignored it, supported it, covered it up and chose to live with it for decades in spite of the damage, humiliation, and risk of disease to her family. Plus, she totally disregarded the emotional and physical damage inflicted on Bill’s victims.
Hillary demeaned, harassed and intimidated the women that threatened to derail Bill’s political career.
Listen man, no need for a preemptive defense of me calling you a liar. I would have hoped that by my earlier posts here you would think it unlikely I go on such an attack.
My problem is really more about what he is talking about. The groping, that is. It really bothers me. I do think he is talking about - bragging about - predatory behavior. I guess you and I just disagree. In either case, I think this one will stick to him, whether “normal” or not.
