Yes that thread got pulled and earned my a one week suspension. But that was like 2 - 3 weeks ago. My position is that I did my penance. So, who are you to demand more?

I posted a hateful email from someone that I had just exposed as a fraud in a public post. If he had instead posted it, it would have been deleted by a moderator due to language and a personal attack. I believe it's a legitimate to show others what kind of person writes such an email.
I don't agree with this policy, but it's their sandbox.
Apparently you thought more ‘evidence’ with names and such was justification, then.
I’d think as a rising author, you’d want to grow a thicker skin.

It might be interesting to open up an “anything goes” (outside the blatantly racist, obscene, or threatening or illegal, etc.) board, that is independent of Free Republic, but is given its subscriber lists so that only members of FR can post or comment.
That is, in effect there would be a “Chinese wall” between the two. The board would be something like USENET used to be, but mostly for vanity posts. It would still need some moderation, of course, but would be a way to put up overflow from FR, so that it doesn’t clog the pipes.
It would also be a way to post small stuff, like interesting links and resources, generally speaking, without exposing FR to legal hassles.
I like that idea, mostly because everything I post is off the wall. But, having said that, everyone should have a voice. But everyone does not have a right to be listened too.

I threatened to do so early in my membership and The Boss came on the thread with a cease and desist order.
I always obey The Boss...His site, his rules.
I still have some of the freepmails from the now banned drunken freeper.
I think you are right. I was unaware of that rule, and when I received the hate Freepmail, I thought what I did was an appropriate response. So, now I know and will endeavor to behave.

We have free speech that the government may not censor, but when we're in Jim Rob's home or his web site, we have to follow his rules. I'm okay with that. I would not have deleted the threads in question (most of them at least), but it's not my site.
