The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Arty crap.
I liked it. The stunning nudity alone kept it from being boring. The best part was that it showed the Commie crackdown on Czechoslovakia. But I only saw it once and didn't feel compelled to see it again.
“The Unbearable Lightness of Being.”
Seconded.
I couldn’t think of a boring movie I’ve seen, until you mentioned that one.
What a stinker.
My husband and I refer to it as The Unbearable Movie.
It shares many similarities with Leaving Las Vegas.
Boring. Check.
Arty crap. Check.
Climactic (or anti-climactic..you choose) death scene of annoying protagonist signaled relief because the viewer knew the bore fest was mercifully, finally, ending.
Check.
Aptly named.
The same director's Henry and June was also a snooze-fest.
As was The English Patient.
If you want a hands-down winner for most boring film, some of Andy Warhol's movies where literally nothing happens are a good bet.
Nobody bothered watching them, though.
Close runner-up: Anything by Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
Come to think of it Michael Fassbender in Shame was also painfully boring.
