Facts reported in the ESPN story up to this point:
1. Fernandez was a passenger in the boat.
2. The Coast Guard found the boat on the rocks at 3:30 AM.
3. I've seen no indication that there was even a report of the incident before the Coast Guard arrived on the scene.
Sorry for the enormous photo, folks. I’d usually shrink it while posting it, but in light of the nature of the story I thought folks would want to see it at its highest resolution.
I guessed it blasting in at a excessive rate of speed in the dark and missed the inlet.
I spent 6 years flying SAR in that area lots of idiots out there.
