The parents couldn’t have been that upset if they didn’t walk out onto the 50 yard line and announce to the coach and everyone why they were taking their kid home. Oh, no, can’t embarrass the kid and the game must go on mentality. Just keep quiet and let someone else fight the good fight.
Our last kiddo graduated from public HS in 2010. Everyone, including the large number of illegals, many Iranians and half dozen blacks, stood and sang the anthem as the boy scouts raised the flag at football games. That was followed the band playing Amazing Grace. That was only 6 years ago but who knows if they’re allowed to do any of that today.
I wasn't there, but that's a lot to ask. This was the first game of the season and no one expected it. I will post a follow up when more is known.
