So at my son's NFL sanctioned flag-football game today, no National Anthem. A moment of silence. For what? The death of our country?
Great post, and I agree with every word.
(I had to look up the definition of “twerking” though.—LOL)
.
Be careful if you try it... you could throw a hip out or something. :-)
Last week's games were rained out, so I was able to find out this weekend what really happened.
Tonya and Mark Allen run these flag-football games in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania and it's somehow affiliated with the NFL. My wife took our son the first day and he played in the very first two games of the season with no National Anthem. As she was leaving she heard the National Anthem played for the third game. So I saw Tonya before this weekend's game started and asked her what happened. She said they forgot the flag and ran home to get it for the third game. I thanked her.
Mark is and AA state cop and does a lot with kids of all backgrounds. They often play Christian rock in rotation of game music. He's a great guy and his wife is a great person too.
So with acknowledgements to TexasGator for telling me to get all the facts before going off. My only defense is "ever viligent!"
God bless.
Well that is good news indeed. Thanks for the update.
I think I might possibly have watched 3 quarters of NFL football so far this season.
Yesterday, I took my nephew to the rifle range and showed him how to zero the scope on a rifle. Then we had fun blasting away with said rifle. Then he learned how to clean a rifle.
A good time was had by all.
No football necessary.
“ever viligent!”= “ever vigilant!”
In this day and age nothing surprises anyone regarding the lack of patriotism in this country. Thanks for the update and my best to the Lehigh Valley flag football program. I hope that the players realize the importance of reverencing a flag that so many fought and also died to defend the freedoms we have today.
