The NFL hasn't been making any friends lately so it's no surprise.
For one, after how they did St. Louis, the NFL doesn't have very many fans in the state of Missouri anymore. It's been the best thing possible for the St. Louis Blues though...they're riding high right now.
The big one, though, is Kapernick and his merry band of crybabies. America has afforded him an opportunity he wouldn't have received in any other country on the earth and, as a result, he makes more money in a year than most of us will make in our lifetimes. Sitting during the anthem of the country that you live in, that gave you that extraordinary opportunity, strikes people, correctly, as spoiled, childish, bratty behavior. No one wants to see that.

The bond issue on the ballot in San Diego for a new football stadium will tell a big story in November. It’s pretty much assumed that the thing will go down in flames.

There weren’t that many Rams fans in St. Louis anyway. The stadium was part of the stipulations for moving the team there. As an ex-St. Louisan I’m glad they didn’t pay hundreds of millions to upgrade/build a stadium for 10 events per year.

The Kansas City Chiefs were always the dominant team in Missouri for pro football. I lived in Columbia, MO during the Cardinals last year in Missouri. NO buzz (granted Columbia is a college town, but even when I went to St. Louis...) When my Rams moved to Missouri I went down for a game in 2002, early in the season after they went to the Super bowl. There were as many Cowboy fans there as Rams fans. It was disheartening. The mother of the family hosting me that year asked me why I would be a Rams fan? (She liked th Chiefs).
In fact, she was down on the whole NFC. When I drove through the whole state of Missouri two months after the Rams Super Bowl, there was little evidence of support for the team. I ultimately picked up a seat shirt, discounted to $10.
St. Louis is a baseball town. California is the right location for the Rams.
