Mark McConnell, man driving Jeep before Ammon Bundy's arrest, was informant.....(OR STANDOFF TRIAL)
Oregon Live ^ | 9/21/2016 | Maxine Bernstein

Mark McConnell, the driver of the Jeep that Ammon Bundy was riding in before this arrest on Jan. 26, was a government informant who had tipped off law enforcement about the occupation leaders' trip out of the wildlife refuge, according to court testimony Wednesday.....

Oregon State Trooper Jeremiah Beckert said that McConnell provided information about the occupiers vehicles, their location and a basic threat assessment, leading to the high-risk traffic stop on U.S. 395 about 4 p.m. that same day.....

The government limited Beckert's testimony to the arrests, with little discussion of Finicum's fatal shooting.....

Before the trooper took the witness stand, U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown repeatedly warned the defendants and their lawyers that the circumstances surrounding Finicum's death were "off limits". Brown went so far as telling Ryan Bundy that he was forbidden from raising the subject before jurors, and that she would have him removed from the courtroom if he didn't follow her order.

Yet that didn't stop some on the defense side from attempting to raise the matter.

The trooper testified that the occupants of the Jeep--Ammon Bundy, McConnell and Brian Cavalier--complied with orders to step out of the vehicle and walk backward to waiting officers. The only one armed in the Jeep was McConnell, who had a handgun.....

"I saw a white male with a cowboy hat laying on his back," Beckert testified, estimating that the man's body was about 30 yards south of the truck....

During cross-examination, Ammon Bundy's lawyer Marcus Mumford established again that Beckert learned that Finicum has been killed by law enforcement.

Mumford followed up, "In fact, he was shot three times in the back...." The prosecutor objected, and the judge immediately asked the jurors to disregard Mumford's question.........

Oh, trust me. I believe in America and the deathbed won’t prevent me voting for Trump. I have prayed fervently for Divine help in preventing the Fundamental Transformation of America and that she can be restored without violence. Unfortunately, our enemy gets to decide if this is possible.

It is scary to consider that Nixon’s front man back then to con conservatives into supporting him, Pat Buchanan, is supporting Trump, but I’ll try to see things on the bright side.

Oh please, what a bunch of crap. Where to even start? Did you support McGovern?

“Whatever McConnell’s other faults may or may not be, he did his job”

So did the Nazi prison guards but that did not protect them from prosecution.

I think comrade Reno is confused and doesn’t understand that the people persecuting er prosecuting the Bundy’s are a progressive activist judge and a progress DOJ and DA. Or on the other hand maybe he does. :-)

Yes, there is a lot of crap in this thread. Can’t believe people openly promote and defend sedition, armed insurrection, and make heros of people disrespecting the US, living here and not accepting the responsibility of respecting our country and it’s laws, of celebrating and promoting armed insurrection. Incredible, especially as at least one claims to have once been in the US military. What do these people say of the riots in Charlotte or BLM insurrection? Is that okay, too, because it opposes their evil America? Or is it different rules, do as I say not as I do? Is it then because of racism? Yes, a lot of crap defending and hero worshipping the Bundys and promoting armed insurrection. This thread has been started/taken over by a bunch of I don’t know what. Definitely not patriotic, loyal Americans. Probably not Trump supporters. I doubt that any of these people are registered to vote and if they did, would either candidate want their vote? How many votes are we talking about anyway?

So you admit you fully support Loretta Lynch’s DOJ. And in order to keep Lorette in power you have to vote for Hillary. Yes we see. :-)

Don’t blame comrade Reno. He may really believe a police state is a safe state. :-)

Too young to vote, but the conservative commentary I heard on the radio back then pointed to Nixon’s signing off on EPA and OSHA.

Nixon maintained the big government LBJ built and suckered conservatives by attacking liberal media and saying ‘law and order’ in his speeches.

When I think of China’s belligerency in the South China Sea today and its power as a nation fed by the US and other countries, I’m not only reminded of what happened with Japan and Pearl Harbor, I’m reminded that Henry Kissinger (who won’t endorse Trump at this point) and Nixon started the process.

Nixon cut deal with Communists, said some were better than others when he visited Ceaucescu in Romania, a brutal dictator. Our foreign policy today in Libya and Syria is based on the same notion that some Jihadis are better than.

The truth about the civil rights protests is that they descended into violence in 1963 and the opportunity to peacefully change things was lost in the years ahead.

Howard K. Smith, ABC news anchor, noted that the violence turned the public against civil rights in the end when he was interviewed on PBS in the early 70’s.

The GOP made big gains in 1966 on the basis of the backlash.

MLK was surrounded by Communists and he was a “sex addict”, but he had a good vision of non-violence and a success with it at Birmingham in 1963 that needs to be emulated in our times.

The angry politics that drives us to the polls every time to vote for RINO’s wont work.

Those are good points on Nixon. On the other hand his reapproachment with China was designed to win the Cold War, without total thermonuclear war. The strategy he put in place worked, and came to fruition under Reagan.

The EPA or something was needed in the 1970s. Pollution was killing us, literally.

I remember the Love Canal. I remember thick smog in LA. I remember Zug Island and Lake Erie catching on fire.

Capitalism was failing to regulate itself appropriately, in my opinion. Conservatism means conserving our nation including the natural aspects of it, within reason.

I don’t believe I was referencing you when I mentioned the Tulsa thing.

I was pointing out the Bezmenov videos you mentioned because the loudmouth you were corresponding with would have been too lazy to Google or search Youtube for them. Yuri Bezmenov was telling us what was coming, and practically nobody paid him attention. Yours was a good call in pointing him out.

The loudmouth contrarians I was referencing are Freepers screaming outrage at local cops because a police uniform doesn’t impart ESP or clairvoyance, but they are strangely silent about Fed cops showing the very behavior they’re outraged about.

Whatever McConnell’s other faults may or may not be, he did his job, if you can call it that, defending America against armed sedition and insurrection.

And whatever Lon Horiuchi’s other faults may or may not be, he did his job, if you can call it that, defending America against armed sedition and insurrection.

And women armed with babies...

Maybe I am wrong but I don’t see Reno as a troll or whatever. I think it takes time for the “scales to fall from one’s eyes”. II know in my case it did. I think it would have been faster had I had the Internet and FreeRepublic. I started out as a libtard, sad to admit. My career just had not left me time to attend to anything else. When I finally got to a place I could start paying attention I began to realize how wrong I was about a number of things. It took years to go from there to here. The big step was coming home from four years deployed on Active Duty. Wow! Watching the news in the mid 90s was mind blowing. One lie after the next. Going from not paying attention to not even here to see it for year’s and then slammed into, “These people are lying to us with every breath they take.”. That got me to realize that if the folks lying to me tended to support the folks I identify with I need to take another look at these GOP folks and see why their enemies have to lie to me.

That was a big step for me to take. Hell, I voted for Carter! Twice. And Dukakis. Seriously. Bob Dole was the FIRST GOP vote I ever cast. I began to realize I was wrong about other things. I remember vividly the day I told my wife, “You know, these media types that are liking to us hate these Christians with a passion. Maybe we should look into this and try to figure out just what is going on there. Mere lately it seems maybe they have the right enemies.”. I was Baptized in 2000. (The wife still can’t see that)

So I get that it takes time to really look around and sort things out. When you are wrong but you want to be right you have to “put yourself out there” and get smacked around a bit. But what is more important? Being right or continuing to be wrong and not be able to see it?

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he is sincere in time he will mature. If he is a troll I don’t care. I landed a trophy when I gaffed Texas Gator. And even he is starting to come around. And I really wasn’t even fishing for him.
