Celebrities are the basis of American culture. Period. Everyone wants to dress like a celebrity. People will watch more movies than the Presidential and vice presidential debates. That’s why.
Very brave, this n00b is, lecturing an old-timer like MMTU.
Welcome to FreeRepublic, Puff. :-)
Incidentally, I basically agree with you. I was just pulling yer chain a bit.
“Everyone wants to dress like a celebrity”
As Johnny Carson use to say,
“I did not know that.”
Who told you celebrities were the basis of American culture? Would you please document that? So many people want to have NOTHING at all to do with celebrities these days because they promote homosexuality, islam, immorality and disrespect for authority. If you defend them, you're defending that. And talk about immorality, this story is basically ABOUT that.
Where I live people don't dress like celebrities. You might consider moving.
I rarely watch movies, and then, I choose really good movies like "Le Concert". Ever seen that one and the excellent motives inherent in that movie. Try watching "The Sweet Bean". Try watching really good movies, then get back with me.
Perhaps because there are more movies than "Presidential and vice presidential debates."
Of course if you meant to say that more people will watch movies than the debates, I would agree with you and I would be one of those people. The "debates" after all are nothing but a construct of television. They are simply TV game shows in which contestants, including moderators, try to out-do each other with one-liners and gotcha questions.
