Hope you enjoy. Sister Golden Hair
music *ping*
They'll never make music like that again.
It’s such a perfectly constructed tune. Always been a fave of mine, too.
Reminds me of my younger days.
I loved the way it was used in the Sopranos episode after the hit.
Makes me sad.
Came out after my first love broke up with me.
Only sad memories.
I think the difference is those who are older came of age in times when radio was king and played a wide range of music, it wasn’t balkanized as it is now.
Example - 1967 rock radio playlist:

There still good music being made, but nowadays you have to know what you’re looking for and where to find it.
“Only sad memories.”

In the soundtrack of my life it’s a happy memories song.
Phenomenal song: typical hippie poetry; but, oh, the groove, the sounds, the mix, all these make for tremendous enjoyment; and the lyrics somehow make a bit of sense, although I don’t know why.
I have actually written some Christian words to it, and our worship band performs it with great joy.
This always reminds me of a certain someone, back in the day.
Love that song. It came out right before our wedding, and I had long blond hair and got married on a Monday.
Wow. I was going into my senior year of college. Two years later I’d be at a place called Hill 55......

That would put you in Nam in 1977?
Ooops, sorry - thought you were referring to Sister Golden Hair! My bad, jeez I’m an idiot sometimes!

You got some years on me, then. But I remember all the songs on that list being played on the radio, except for the Hermit’s tune.
Tin Man was my favorite song by America.
I think they also did Chestnut Mare:”I’m going to get that horse cause I can!”
Saw them play a set live at Disneyland when I was still a teenager...
