I think even the Zapruder film wasn’t seen till around 1967 when Life magazine published still photos taken from it.

I first saw it on a Geraldo TV show in 1970 something ....

I am fascinated by this. You see, George Orwell miscalculated. In '1984', he envisioned a world where government would control the populace through technology - television, computers, etc. The thing he didn't see was that the people would eventually get their own portable computers and video cameras and tie them together.

The police were the first 'victims' of this (think Rodney King), but now everyone is on the public's watch, and it can race around the world in a blink of an eye. Add the Julian Assanges and Edward Snowdens of the world, and it is obvious, to that there is an effort to turn the table on '1984'. The people do have power.

Speaking of the Zapruder film, here it is in a continuous (Adobe Shockwave) loop. It has been brightened up and had the color saturation boosted a bit.
