50 years? God, I’m ancient.

Yep, right there with ya. I remember watching Star Trek as a teen on it's original run.

I’m partial to Orion slave girls, myself.

When android chicks in mini skirts show up you can guarantee a dialogue of 'Captain Kirk, what...is...love?'

Sorry-I don’t read any homosexual agenda into Outcast-I’ve seen the episode many times since it was new-most recently on BBCA-and I see Ryker’s crush as someone wanting to return to a normal time when males and females had sex, fell in love, etc rather than the comparatively joyless we-are-all-the-same unfulfilling existence she was in-that may be because I’m a regular heterosexual woman, but I don’t think so-being androgynous looked like it sucked to me...

Both of my husbands and my dad were in the military-MrT5 served for 30 years before he took a civilian job-I’m no stranger to military life-but as for what Ryker should have done/not done in the Pegasus episode-I remember all the uproar about the truly awful things Lt. Calley condoned-and did-and what happened to him because of it-he was following orders, too-bad orders-and it got him courts martialed, imprisoned and ruined his future-it has happened to others throughout history-even recently-sometimes following orders is not an excuse for allowing a bad or deadly situation to go on-but that is just my opinion-I’d probably end up before a firing squad, because I wouldn’t follow orders like that...

I wish SciFi channel would run the Battlestar Galactica series again-that was a fav, too...

My brain is not washable-I did not watch either of the series you referred to-they looked like f’ing liberal propaganda to me from the gitgo-not entertainment-being annoyed with the viewpoint of the characters or storyline is a reason not to watch.

I don’t care what other adults watch-it is entirely their affair-if they are gullible enough to buy the liberal line totally, then it probably won’t go well for them when the tide turns and the whip comes down-and that is not my problem...

How? For refusing her husband's invitation to a sex club?

I believe that Jeri Ryan all but admitted that she made it up, saying that "you'll say anything to get custody of your kids".

But, I haven't been able to find that quotation.

Actually wasn’t it Picard who gave the order to tell the Romulans?

They should have set the Pegasus to self destruct or left a timed Photon torpedo behind and high tailed it out of there and de-cloacked back in Federation space.

The same similar stupid thing happen on Enterprise where they told the Andorians about the Vulcan listening outpost.

Such stupidity and treason against an ally by a captain would not be tolerated. Well, maybe under Obama.

General Order 24 - in two hours. Bad-ass.

I always liked the scenes where Scotty had command.

Actual premiere was in Canada on Sept. 6 1966 two days prior to the US NBC debut.

IIRC, money and capital punishment existed in the original series. As for the chronologically later shows, yep - total collectivist foolishness.

I think I made a reasonably good effort to get my point across. It didn't work, so i'm not going to belabor the point any further.

Also beyond the authority of a captain. This is Executive Branch decision making.

They should have set the Pegasus to self destruct or left a timed Photon torpedo behind and high tailed it out of there and de-cloacked back in Federation space.

They should have retrieved the top secret and valuable government property, taken it back to their government, then allowed their government to decide what to tell the Romulans and what to do with the property.

It is not the business of field officers to make decisions which ought to be made by the Executive leadership.

The same similar stupid thing happen on Enterprise where they told the Andorians about the Vulcan listening outpost.

I vaguely remember that, and I believe you are right. That was also a case of a Captain being too big for his britches.

Such stupidity and treason against an ally by a captain would not be tolerated.

Not in a real military service it wouldn't.

And The Children Shall Lead' has got to be the worst.

Yes, that and "Turnabout Intruder" are the ones I haven't watched in years. Even "Spock's Brain" is high art in comparison.

I don’t know either - why SciFy doesn’t run the Stargate SG1 reruns any more- but that’s why I purchased the DVD’s. Investment well worth it.

I didn’t get the “Givers of Pain and Delight” joke until I was quite a few years older. :-/
