"We saw them out on the ledge as we were shooting other photos and that "Eureka!" moment just unfolded," says photographer
This wedding snapshot just might put every other couples' big day photos to shame.
Photographer Mike Karas of Hawaii was simply enjoying the sunset when he says he happened to be in the right place at the right time. As a newlywed couple emerged from the shadows, Karas snapped a once-in-a-lifetime photo of the unidentified duo as they embraced on top of a cliff in Yosemite with the golden sun setting behind them.
The unforgettable moment turned out to be one of Karas's favorite photos that he has ever captured.
"It was surreal," he said. "We had seen the bride and groom walking down, but all of a sudden we saw them out on the ledge as we were shooting other photos and that 'Eureka!' moment just unfolded."
Karas has since shared the photo on Instagram and Facebook in hopes of hunting down the couple so that he can share the priceless picture with the newlyweds.
As he waits, he is grateful to the mysterious tandem for allowing him to share in an extraordinary moment that was captured with just one frame.
"Thanks for adding to an already amazing sunset photo opportunity and I would love to be able to share this with you," Karas said. "As much of an amazing moment it was for me to capture, it was clearly an even more special moment in your life." \ The photo was taken at sunset on Sept. 1 at Taft Point along the Pohono Trail in Yosemite National Park.
Clouds Rest is not too shabby.

I wish that was me in that picture!!! That is soooooo beautiful!!!
I’ve been there.
The most dangerous thing up on that ledge is lightning believe it or not. Then again one day those cracks just......
As a good photographer myself, that photo is very well exposed considering the backlighting, and it may well be a lot sharper than it appears here onn screen on FR.
It’s also quite nicely composed.
Plus, they can’t be recognized from the photo.
My doodads tightened up just lookin at that drop!!
Beautiful pic, tho'.!! d;^)
Best way to find them is look in the newlweds section of the local newspaper for Mr and Mrs Cliff.
That's a shame since you probably don't want to visit America's national parks like Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Zion, Arches, Bryce, and dozens more.
You’ve seen one mountain, you’ve seen ‘em all. The historical parks, however ....
My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon - in the winter - in one of the cabins - we ice skated & hiked - fantastic!
Hope she don’t bend over or lean too far or she would’ve fallen for Craig Altitude.
Hello, is this Acme Life Insurance? My bride tripped on her gown.
Awesome photo.
“...’til death do us part ...”

“The fall wasn’t that bad. It was the sudden stop at the end of it that bothered her.”
Your post made me smile. :)
I think you are right! :)
Take care, FRiend. :)
“The scenery is great, of course, but I wouldnt say its that good a photo. Its more of a hazy snapshot than a professional quality photo.”
Who said “professional”? The title said “breathtaking”, and it is. Besides, it’s probably one of the best photos they have of their wedding.
I have to agree, I have a terrible fear of heights and would never have done that. :) My stomach would be doing flip flops the entire time, that close to a cliff.
But it is a spectacular photo. :)
LOL!
Beautiful ~ God Bless!
Not impressed. I’ve seen better cat pictures.
