Yes. It is such a religious discussion to contemplate "Why is there a universe?". Even science has nothing and you can hear the desperate attempt to throw out invented scientific sounding things when faced with that question.
If big bang then what caused the big bang? What child wouldn't ask that question? I remember an old astronomy book where they quoted some astronomer when asked what was God doing before the big bang. Answer: "Creating a Hell for anyone who would dare to ask".
