I'm merely suggesting that not all of science is as corrupted by politics as the AGW hypothesis. In the past, I'd have agreed with you.
However, modern science has been so corrupted by folks chasing government grants it's hard to believe anything anymore.
Science itself does not ask for "belief" or "faith" or even "hope" -- none of such words have anything to do with strict scientific terminology.
Instead, we might recognize or acknowledge findings on some hypothesis as being a "confirmed" theory, pending future data or ideas which might yet falsify it.
When theories are strongly confirmed, we can use them in building machines & transportation equipment that our lives depend on, and in that sense we "believe" they work.
But in true science, it's always a temporary, conditional acceptance pending some future new data or ideas.
