A worker at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming is dead after falling off a cliff, park rangers said.
Estefania Liset Mosquera Alcivar, 21, of Quito, Ecuador, was killed early Friday morning, according to the National Park Service. She was a park concession employee.
The woman was socializing with a group of co-workers at the parks Grandview Point trail when she fell over the cliff edge into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, the NPS said.

Just the first look at that picture put a heart in my throat sinking feeling.
Looking at a vista like the Grand Canyon is OK, but looking at depth is another story.
Beautiful girl. RIP
National parks world wide do exchange student programs. It might be part of the World Heritage thing .
Cute. Damn shame. RIP. :-(
She's not U.S., but she's American. Ecuador is in South America, check your globe.
You have to be 18 to work in Yellowstone these days....I was 17 when I worked there in 1968. And, I think the jobs SHOULD go to AMERICAN workers....
“She’s not U.S., but she’s American. Ecuador is in South America, check your globe.”
Screw you. America is frequently used for the USA. Check your dictionary:
“American: 1. of or relating to the United States of America or its inhabitants: an American citizen.”

One should never become comfortable when near a place they can fall to their death.
Your cousin fell to his death on Half Dome? Oh isn’t that just terrible. So sorry.
I don’t like heights and edges either. I think it has to do with the BRAIN saying, “Get the heck back on earth, you idiot!”
That’s quite an exaggeration. A ranger at the GC told us the average viewing time at the South Rim is (an astonishing) seventeen minutes.
It’s doubly unsurvivable if they don’t helicopter into the canyon to see if she fell into sand.
There’s a slight technicality here. This young lady was not directly hired by the fed park service. Concession workers are hired by the private company that has the concession.
Let’s assume the concession was a billeting complex. The company managing the complex hired her, not the NPS. I’m also willing to bet there are federal wage scales that must be met, so she was likely paid quite well. Also private companies need not meet any citizenship requirements.
Nonetheless, it’s tragic, and she was a pretty girl.
Oh, yeadh. I am a terra firma type person.
LOL! Maybe my shoelace would catch on a Mesquite, ya think?
No doubt - been to both places, not interested in any cliff-side trail walks at either place.
It said “of Ecuador.” Doesn’t sound like she was here legally, if she was they would have mentioned the city and state.
Should have a she wasn’t a U.S. citizen, she was by no means “illegal.”
3:15 am. Nothing good happens after Midnight. RIP young girl.
