It is spelled Anchors “AWEIGH”, if you please
MY MOST HUMBLE APOLOGIES. Just got back from 90 minutes in the dentist chair, seem to have a bit of a short circuit going here. I am very sorry.
Wow. This old girl is sitting here with tears in her eyes. God bless Ernie.
Salute!
Good for the CPO Selectees! It’ll be part of the scuttlebutt in the Goat Locker for the rest of their own careers.
I *really* enjoy these stories of veterans like him.
Thanks.
You are not alone. . .
You got that right...
I am in a Chicken Fil a eating lunch and watched that.
Should have grabbed more napkins.
Several versions of the lyrics, but my favorite:
Anchors aweigh, my boys
Anchors aweigh!
Farewell to college joys
We sail at break of day, day, day, day!
Through our last night on shore
Drink to the foam!
Until we meet once more
Here’s wishing you a happy voyage home!
Heave-a-ho there sailor
Everybody drink up while you may!
Heave-a-ho there sailor
For we’re going to sail at break of day!
Drink away, away
For we sail at break of day, hey!
Blue of the Seven Seas
Gold of God’s great Sun
Let these our colors be
Until all our days be done, done, done, done!
By Severn’s shore we learn
Navy’s stern call
Faith, courage, service true
With honor over, honor over all!
:)
Ping to check out later.

Those aren’t officers. They’re chief petty officer selectees.
