HBO's Last Week Tonight host John Oliver pitches a new idea to Donald Trump: Avoid losing to Hillary Clinton by dropping out of the race for president now.

“You’re either going to win or you’re going to lose, and I think both those scenarios end pretty badly for you,” Oliver told the GOP presidential nominee on his HBO series Sunday. “I would like to propose to you a third option and that is, drop out. Simply drop out and tell America this entire candidacy was a stunt.”
"Just think about how triumphant it would feel to say on national television: 'I openly ran on a platform of impossibly ignorant proposals steeped in racial bigotry, and nobody stopped me. In fact, you embraced me for it! What the **** was that about?’” he said. "That would be one of the most powerful political speeches of all time.”
"You would not be a loser,” Oliver begged Trump. "You would be a legend."
Like most on this thread, I’ve never heard of this moron. I don’t watch TV at all and I don’t own one. I gave up the habit decades ago and recommend the same for everyone else.

What’s amazing is that lefty “entertainers” always think they are talking only to one another, as if it’s an inside joke.
I’ve watched two or three episodes of this, then consigned it to the rubbish bin. He’s just another leftist a$$hole, Jon Stewart re-imagined.
Jay Leno was a bit more ecumenical in his mockery.
But his successor Jimmy Fallow is drudgery to watch. He is completely predictable.

This guy is totally delusional. He is ready for a padded room in a nice institution.
If anything, comedians should be desperate for Trump to win. That way they can pretend they are courageous defenders of free speech speaking Truth to Power and all that. They had Bush to mock and then for some reason they went silent as if there were no President at all for the last 8 years. Trump would give them meaning again.

Never heard of him either. Then again, I haven’t watched HBO, with the exception of a movie or two on a free weekend, in over twenty years.
From what I can gather, this Johnny guy is a legend in his own mind.
