Watching the awards ceremony and I notice not a single white guy on the team. Usually I wouldn't care and I'm all for putting the best players on the team but after all the whining we heard about no black nominees during the Academy Awards this must be asked.

I know the point you are making...but as an aside, of the white NBA players....which ones should have been on the Olympic team over the guys that were picked?
I personally don't care about the color of the players. They could be the all-white NBA All-Stars but it still doesn't make it right that we can send a bunch of professionals to represent us at the Olympic games.
My fondest Olympic memory was when the U.S. Hockey team beat the Russians in 1980. Now the players on the U.S. team back then were basically still in college or high school and never played a minute in the NHL. The Russians on the other hand averaged around 30 years old and did nothing but play hockey all their lives. It was good to see a bunch of college kids beat them.
I hope next time around, a bunch of kids from some other country socks it to the NBA All-Stars.
Maybe the white guys didn’t want to risk getting the Zika virus...

But just for the record - this guy scored 37 points in ONE QUARTER a year or so ago and he looks pretty white to me. Maybe 12.5 % African American. Look up the video on YouTube.
Because Bob Cousy stopped playing a long time ago.

Why so few black hockey players?
not the point....the selection of the US Olympic basketball team was subjective- just like the academy awards...yet when no black actors, etc were nominated for an oscar there was an uproar...
