Red alert, Democrats. Donald Trump might be poised to make a comeback. (Hillary insider worried)
Washington Post ^ | 2 days ago | Jonathan Capehart

Democrats have reason to be thrilled by the campaign chaos swarming the presidential campaign of Donald Trump. Three different campaign managers in two months? Poll numbers in the toilet? Reliably red states in danger of turning blue? The rending of garments and gnashing of teeth of dyed-in-the-wool Republicans as the party of Reagan sinks inexorably into the party of Trump? The schadenfreude is just too delicious.

But the shoe will be on the other foot if Democrats don’t heed the warning signs I’ve noticed in the past few days.

Hours before news of the change in campaign management was announced, Trump gave a speech in Wisconsin. His pitch to African Americans on crime and jobs was undermined not only by his history of hostility toward them but also by his delivering it in overwhelmingly white West Bend, Wis., which he repeatedly referred to as predominantly black “Milwaukee.” A city literally aflame with tension after a police-involved shooting on Aug. 13.

But as I listened to Trump, I was struck by how he delivered his teleprompter-assisted speech. Gone was the listlessness from previous days. His confidence was back. And that pitch of his had just enough footholds of credibility as it was rooted in traditional law-and-order conservatism the GOP is known for. Still, it was raw.

To Leftists, the accusation is proof of the crime. No further evidence is required.

One thing, pajama boy. Cite one thing in Trump's life where he's been hostile to blacks because they are black.

Make that suppository

I think that the writer had to take a suppository to write this because he is constantly blocked up.

What happened was last Friday, Donald Trump and Mike Pence were clearly in Louisiana helping out people hit by flooding we haven't seen in that part of the Mississippi River basin since the epic floods of 1927. Meanwhile, President Obama couldn't be persuaded to miss his regular golf game on Martha's Vineyard, and Hillary Clinton only spoke to the victims by phone--the "optics" looked REALLY bad for the Democrats.

Donald Trump has been in the public eye as a business man and celebrity for 30+ years. He has had hit TV shows, been name-checked in rap songs. He has elbowed with the Hollywood elite.

What is the "history of hostility" that you speak of?

American journalism is collapsing before our eyes

Donald Trump may or may not fix his campaign, and Hillary Clinton may or may not become the first female president. But something else happening before our eyes is almost as important: the complete collapse of American journalism as we know it.

The frenzy to bury Trump is not limited to the Clinton campaign and the Obama White House. They are working hand-in-hand with what was considered the cream of the nation’s news organizations.

The shameful display of naked partisanship by the elite media is unlike anything seen in modern America.

The largest broadcast networks — CBS, NBC and ABC — and major newspapers like The New York Times and Washington Post have jettisoned all pretense of fair play. Their fierce determination to keep Trump out of the Oval Office has no precedent.

Indeed, no foreign enemy, no terror group, no native criminal gang, suffers the daily beating that Trump does. The mad mullahs of Iran, who call America the Great Satan and vow to wipe Israel off the map, are treated gently by comparison.

By torching its remaining credibility in service of Clinton, the mainstream media’s reputations will likely never recover, nor will the standards. No future producer, editor, reporter or anchor can be expected to meet a test of fairness when that standard has been trashed in such willful and blatant fashion.

The Democrats I know are suddenly starting to express interest in his strategy and how Trump can win the Hispanic vote, etc. They are definitely worried.

I never really saw him as being down. It was the media bashing him 24/7 trying to lead us to believe he was down.

Barry always sounds like the stuttering fool he is without being fed the words. If the media covered him the way they pilloried W the entire country would see him a the joke he is instead of just half...well, maybe 90%, there will always be lost causes.

“Racist” Trump is on track to outperform most of his recent predecessors (R nominees) with Hispanics and Blacks.

Whoever thought this up should get a raise and a promotion. What Do You Have to Lose?

I heard him say that yesterday and I thought the same. Very smart line, indeed.

Actually, “What do you have to lose” should be a bumper sticker. I might even put it on my car - I don’t think they’d run me off I-95 with that one.

“Then when he realizes he’s been BS-ed, its a Red Alert.”

It is much easier to deceive people than to convince them that they’ve been deceived. That’s why so few leftards ever recover.
