The problem with Firefox/Mozilla is their rapid release — about every 6 weeks. Those releases break more extensions than fix issues.

But of course, there is an extension to combat that as well. Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks :: Add-ons for Firefox

But of the extensions I use hardly any ever have that issue, except the superb FT DeepDark theme, which the developer usually updates quickly.

What kind of a steep learning curve would I experience by trying to use firefox?

I get REALLY upset just trying to relearn stuff when Windows comes out with a new version!
