Another vote for Mel Brooks. When Gene Wilder was involved it was always magic.
I miss those days.

Agreed.
I forgot to add Betty White.

Speaking of “Sing In the Rain” Jean Hagen as Lina Lamont was brilliant and robbed of an Oscar.

Irene Ryan. Carol Burnett. Ruth Buzzi. Rhea Pearlman.
Cloris Leachman is actually hilariously funny in "Raising Hope", though she is only a supporting actor.
Whoppi Goldberg was also funny at one time.

"Court Jester"
Yes, one of the best. Just saw it for the first time recently and couldn't believe I'd never heard of it. Big surprise!

The Producers is the funniest movie ever made. Tropic Thunder is number 2.
Mel Brooks, Jackie Gleason. Peter Sellers. - it's all very selective

The definitive list of the funniest people who have every lived (well at least since the dawn of recorded sound and film):
Groucho Marx
John Cleese
Mike Myers
Bill Cosby
Charlie Chaplin
George Carlin
Mel Brooks
Buster Keaton
No arguments to this list will be considered.

I am with you... with the proviso that I would consider Steve Martin: writer, actor, comedian, musician.

Another vote for Mel Brooks. When Gene Wilder was involved it was always magic. I miss those days. I always loved Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor together. That comedy duo worked.
Never was much of a Mel Brooks fan. Funniest thing he ever did was "Blazing Saddles", and there were parts of that which I thought weren't funny.
I absolutely hated "Spaceballs." Not funny. Not even in the same country as funny.
A fellow I haven't seen mentioned so far is John Astin.

Buster’s Play House is wonderful as is Harold Lloyd’s Why Worry.
Spencer Tracy is another who could do it all.

Hi! Back in 70’s just did not care for Three’s Company. But I watched some Three’s A Crowd in 1984 because I liked Robert Mandan as Chester on SOAP.
read my tagline? [Not the place to discuss this. Not worthy of Off topic. :) ]
