CHARLESTON, S.C.
Dylann Roof, the white man charged in the massacre of nine parishioners at a Charleston church, was assaulted Thursday by a black inmate at the South Carolina jail where he is being held, a law official said.
A police report says 26-year-old Dwayne Stafford ran from his cell and down stairs to attack Roof.
The Charleston County Sheriffs Office report said Roof, 21, was in the shower when he was beaten around 7:45 a.m. Thursday at the Charleston County jail.
Deputies say Stafford hit Roof in the head and body with his hands, leaving Roof with bruises. Authorities say Roof was examined by medical personnel and sent back to his cell.

I am amazed how people smack their lips at extrajudicial punishments. Absolutely amazed. Whatever it is part of the bargain of, it isn’t one of a free republic.
Evil SOB created his own hell on earth . . . it is poetic justice for him to live with it.
Then be amazed.
Did you think that something other than this would happen to him?
It’s going to be like this for the rest of his miserable existence.
Too bad, so sad.
But he will find love...the hard way.
Very important in our race-based society to denote whenever perp is white.
Awwwwwwwwww.
So what they are saying is the guy hit the Roof.
If he has used a shank he would have deserved a candy bar too.

LWOP could be lot worse for him than a death sentence. He’d spend the rest of his miserable life looking over his shoulder for and waiting for the hit that would inevitably come, just like the late Jeffrey Dahmer of West Allis, WI fame, who also received prison justice.
Very sensitive of you.
Perhaps he should have considered his future in jail, before SHOOTING PEOPLE IN COLD BLOOD.
“I am amazed how people smack their lips at extrajudicial punishments.”
I do hear you. We have a justice system, so as to NOT have a ‘revenge system’, as is the case in many, many, other places.
Even so, it is difficult for a lot of us to have ANY SYMPATHY for a guy that shoots innocent church-going people in cold blood. It is simply too much to ask.
I’m just surprised it took this long. I thought it would be at least a weekly thing a long time ago.
Sorry but I just can’t have a lot of sympathy for someone who attended a prayer/study group with a group of strangers, who made him welcome, then killed as many of them as he could. I hope he enjoys his lifetime in jail. This will happen again...and again...and again...and I still won’t have any sympathy.
Stick him in general population. Save us the trouble of the media circus once his trial begins.
We’re a peaceful community but the rabble will not let the opportunity of his trial go to waste. They tried once before to set Charleston to burn and it didn’t work. The local black community didn’t play their game. But they won’t stop trying.
