“Space plane”, really? Does Xenu know about this?
Would have been ready last year except for addition of mooselimb footwash module.
Honey, I Shrank the Space Shuttle!!
Looks like the Smart car have space shuttles.
After looking at it, I was reminded of the Northrop M2-F2 “lifting body” aircraft whose crash was featured at the opening of “The Six Million Dollar Man”.
How much cargo could this possibly hold? I think I could have stuffed more stuff in the trunk of a 78 Oldsmobile Delta 88.
It doesn't have to hold cargo.
It just has to hold our dreams.
Isn’t this similar to the craft that crashed and caused Steve Austin to need bionics?
With a big enough booster we could put up a
78 Oldsmobile Delta 88. The landing might be
a little iffy but they had great shocks.
The original Space Shuttle was supposed to be much smaller, like this new space plane. Designed for high orbit out where the high up satellites are. Then the military intervened and pushed for a larger shuttle, which grew larger and larger on the design table. The final design was only capable of low-Earth orbit of a few hundred miles up, and was extremely costly to loft into space. If NASA stuck with the original smaller design, the Space Shuttles would still be in use and we would have dozens of them in use. As with all government projects, politics screwed it up.
I had a ‘81(?) Delta 88 2-door, the one with the doors a mile long. My co-workers called in the “driveby” car, because the field-of-fire was so large (we were in Detroit). I thought it funny until I saw kids flashing gang-symbols at me on my way home. And I’m white, lol.
Wife brought a ‘77 Pontiac Bonneville 2 door beater to the marriage. 455 engine, hood that went on forever, ‘wide-track’ suspension, huge interior. I had to crawl under it and replace the U-joint.
Traded it to a black guy with a gold front tooth for his help and the rest of the apt. grounds crew with their truck moving us.
He was happy to get it. I didn’t have to feed it anymore, but still miss that ride.
Looks like it has just about enough room for six bags of groceries and maybe some DVDs.
