Despite the rocky start to the Democratic National Convention, bookies are making the Hillary-Kaine ticket the odds-on favorite over the Trump-Pence ticket.
But the smart money may be as wrong about the U.S. presidential election as it was about Britain’s referendum on the European Union, in which the bookies gave the Remain camp an 82 percent chance of victory.
Mike Pence is a favorite among evangelicals and other conservatives, and he can do Trump a world of good in turning out the Republican base on Election Day.
Still, when Trump approached Pence about becoming his running mate, the Indiana governor didn’t jump at the chance. In fact, he expressed some reservations about whether he was Trump’s ideal choice for the number-two spot.
According to my sources, Pence told Trump: “There’s something you ought to know about me. Traditionally, the running mate is assigned the job of attacking the presidential nominee of the other party. But I took a pledge back in 1991—you might call it a conversion—that negative campaigning is wrong. So, I’m not going to go negative on Hillary. Do you still want me as your vice president?”
And again according to my sources, Trump looked at Pence and said with Trumpian relish: “Don’t worry—leave Hillary to me.”
So the bookies better take another look at the race, for if anyone can stop Hillary, it’s Donald Trump.

It's brilliant but a bit dicey. You'd have to get the media to participate. And then you would want to make sure you scripted the questions. That may be a bridge to far to get the media to cooperate with a coup like this. BUT, if it were pulled off, WOW.

yes it would be entertaining. The thing I would always expect though- is that they would turn around and do the same thing back, and of course have the help of the media. Not saying that should stop anyone mind you.
Bill Clinton obviously falls asleep during Hillary’s speech. Kaine, sitting next to him, looks at the camera, looks at Bill, looks back at camera, and then places his body to block the camera’s view.

“Bookies” don’t make the odds, bettors do. That just means more people are betting on Hillary in the UK or wherever. The do that so they don’t lose any money no matter who wins. If twice as much is bet on Hillary then the odds are 2 to 1 so they have the money to pay off the winners either way (minus their fees of course). It’s not surprising that Europeans who get all their news from liberal sources think Hillary will win. Doesn’t mean anything except it would be a good time to bet on Trump.

These same gamblers said that Jeb Bush would be the Republican party presidential nominee. Anyone who listens to stupid gamblers to guide their decisions deserves to lose the deed to the farm.
How do I get in on some of that action and what are the current odds?
